Kintrishi Reserve was founded in 1959 to protect its amazing flora and fauna. Here you can see: fawn, bear, fox, forest cat, salamander, and lots of plants - azalea, birch, laurel, bilberry. The rivers are rich with trout. The protected areas have a good potential for tourism, as they are just 20km away from the city of Kobuleti and it is possible to make birdwatching, ecological and ethnological tours.

Kintrishi Protected Areas are located in Adjara with the total area of 13, 883km. Particularly, it is placed in the gorge of the river Kintrishi, between the village of Tskhemvana and Khino Mountains.
