Shuamtoba is an annual public festival which is held in Beshumi Resort and is based on the ancient traditions of the administrative units of Khulo. It is celebrated on the first weekends of August. The festival is visited by local people, as well as by tourists and invited guests. There is an exhibition of Adjarian traditional clothes, dishes, wines which are made from grape varieties that exist in Khulo and handmade items which are used in a daily life and as decorations either. You will have a chance to taste natural products made in mountains, simultaneously purchase them. ( It is worth mentioning that degustation is free of charge.)
Besides getting acquainted with the region and the administrative units, a concert is held and choreographic and musical ensembles of khulo take part in it. Georgian famous singers, bends and ensembles participate, too.
As for activities, there are various types of sports events: horse racing, arm wrestling, wrestling, competitions of jeeps. For safety reasons, it is not recommended to participate in a competition of jeeps and horse racing, but riding is allowed. In both cases, you will be able to visit the territory around Beshumi Resort and the sights which are placed there: Green Lake, Resort Goderdzi, Khikhani Fortress, Alpine park and enjoy enchanting views. You can enjoy this views from the mountains which are 2300-2500 m above sea level. From there unforgettable scene will be unfolded before your eyes, in particular - western and eastern Georgia.
